CNC Machining Guidelines

Team Malice Machining

Team Malice offers simple, 2-Dimensional, perpendicular cut CNC Machining for only the most simple parts under 8″x8″x2″. We’re not set up for larger or complex parts. We have two Nomad Pro 883 desktop CNC machines. These are great for under 3lb weight class, simple robotics parts – especially in thinner UHMW which SendCutSend doesn’t offer.

We only offer 2-dimensional CNC flatbed machining to cut your parts. We’ll use a 0.125″ bit, so allow for a radius of .063” on all internal geometry and a minimum hole size of .125”.

CNC Machining Guidelines

  1. Part should be scaled correctly, 1:1
  2. Files should only contain your parts/cut-paths
  3. Shapes, holes or cutouts are at least 50% material thickness
  4. Part is in .STP or .DXF format only
  5. Part is no taller than 2″
  6. Part is no larger than 8″x8″
  7. No geometry (hole or cutout) is below .125″ wide (the size of our cutting tool)
  8. Internal edges are rounded to a radius of .125″
  9. Parts should be cut from top only.

2D Parts, Top-down cuts

No v cuts

No tapped holes

No contoured cuts

No Double sided cuts

Overall Part Sizing Guidelines

The overall part size should be no more than 8″x8″x2″

Tooling Measurements

0.125″ – please allow for a radius of .063” on all internal geometry and a minimum hole size of .125”. The Cutting Edge Length (0.87″ in the example below) will vary based on the project.

No Sharp Corners

Square cuts will have a slight curved radius due to the use of a round cutting tool. The radius will be .063″ due to the tool’s .125″ diameter.
