Nylon Print Considerations

Nylon

Nylon filament is an incredibly strong, durable and versatile 3D printing material. Flexible when thin, but with very high inter-layer adhesion, nylon lends itself well to things like living hinges and other functional parts. Its low friction coefficient and high melting temperature make it an excellent choice for a variety of everyday items such as 3D printed tools, gears, RC cars and more.

Print Considerations

Team Malice will not remove supports from Nylon prints.

Nylon will shrink when it cools, we recommend sizing your nylon part up by 101% when it is finished being designed to accommodate for nylon shrinkage

Special Taulman 910 Nylon Consideration

Our Taulman 910 Nylon is great for many applications, but it is the most prone to warping of all our Nylon offerings. We highly recommend designing tolerances for the part to not be flat, and if you require a flat nylon print to consider a different nylon. The amount of warp will depend on the part and can vary greatly between designs.
