Adrian “Bunny” Liaw

Captain

Bunny has been in the combat robotics community since 2002 and currently works for SendCutSend. Bunny does a bit of everything for Malice! If something needs doing, Bunny’s probably already on it. She makes the robot function and makes everything run overall. Previously on teams for both Wrecks and Shatter, she has many years of Battlebots experience, as well as event organization, making her a great all-around project manager. She creates artwork for other teams, and is always willing to help out with a problem with any team at all, not just Malice!

David Liaw

Owner

David Liaw is the best team owner! David was on the original Comedy Central Battlebots competition in 2002! Even though his robot never made it to the original TV show, he was hooked! At his day-job, he’s a Computer Engineer, but he lives and breaths combat robots. David has more trophies than any other robot competitor in the world, with over 90 trophies. He has been to over 200 competitions in his 22 year career, and is one of the best drivers the sport has. David is the heart of the robot itself, and when Bunny is busy, he is the one who makes Malice happen. He spends all his time thinking about Malice and how to make it perfect. As collaborative as Bunny is, David is competitive, and is ready to take anyone on!

David Rush

Weapons Specialist

David Rush is the inspiration for all of Malice! His smaller robots, Odium and Animus were the base for Isaak to scale up, and he personally designed the main Big Red Weapon! Rush is one of the most passionate builders in the sport and he truly loves everything about robots!

Isaak Malers

Senior Engineer

Isaak Malers is the main engineer behind Malice and is one of the most innovative engineers in the entire sport. Isaak pushes the boundaries of what is possible in robots, and in life. He is a big supporter of green living and does everything he can to reduce his carbon footprint. He loves biking and spends most of his spare time doing trails, sometimes riding up to 30 miles a day! Isaak is the best of Malice and loves advising anyone who needs it!

Alex Tramiel

Bunny’s right-hand man

Alex is one of the longest running builders in the sport! He has been competing since 2004! He is a staple in the small robot world, and has a knack for making the coolest small bots with the newest tech! He really understands how to make the most of what’s available. He’s Bunny when Bunny can’t be available, and we’re so lucky to have him!

David Scott Johnson

Liaw’s right hand man

Scott is an amazing engineer, bringing precision learned from Mercedes in the past! He also was on Captain Shrederator to get his feet wet in the heavyweight robot scene. Scott is amazing at the small robot competitions!

Johnny Tsoumpas

Malicious Builder

Johnny has been working on a small version of Malice for over a year and a half, and when we met him at Robogames 2023, we fell in love with him! He builds for NHRL and is one of the hardest-working people in the sport! There’s no challenge Johnny won’t take on, and he’s got an enthusiasm to make the sport the best it can be! He made a 250lb mash-up of Nightmare and Ominous that looks AMAZING! He will greatly impact the sport, and we’re so excited to see what he can do!

Peter Garnache

Engineer

New on the roster for WCVIII, Peter Garnache! Peter has only been fighting robots for a few years, but in that time he’s been a great success! He’s competed with Team Horizon, and is sure to bring a bit of that crazy fun bot energy to Malice. His bots are consistently ranked high, and brings home an astounding average of 1.25 trophies per event! He is the founder of Repeat Robotics, the brand new supplier of premium insect weight motors and parts! He’ll do anything to help grow combat robotics as a sport and we’re happy to have him on the team!

Brian Adamson

Engineer

Brian joined us for WCVII, and as a true professional hacker we hope he can help us hack a giant nut win! He’s been in the sport since 2017, and got his first 1st pace win in 2018! He hasn’t designed a robot that goes less than 15 feet per second, so we like to think he’s addicted to speed! He brings a fresh view and amazing ideas to our team!

Mike Britton

Solidworks Expert

Mike is one of our two new members for WCVII! We’re so excited to have this amazing Solidworks genius join us! Mike is passionate about helping our fellow builders and educating people! Mike is simply amazing, and we’re excited to work with him!

Nick Dobrikov

Engineer

Nick is an amazing builder! When he started on Malice he was only 18! For being so young he’s immensely talented and easily surpasses many builders twice his age! Being one of the most innovative builders in the smaller weight classes helps him bring fresh engineering ideas to the 250lb weight class. He’s amazing and we’re so lucky to have him! He is now the Captain of Manta, the champion of Robogames 2023! We’re so proud to have been a part of his journey!
