The Repeat Robotics Brushed SCAR Kit Speed Controller

What happened?

The brushed speed controller we got for the SCAR kit was not suitable for use, with a failure rate of just about 60% of the ones we sold, for everyone that worked, we had another non-functioning one.

What were the issues?

The most common failure seemed to be the speed controller failing to respond at all, but commonly the robot also wouldn’t failsafe with the speed controller.

Did you do any testing of these speed controllers before selling them?

Yes, I spent about a month going back and forth with Repeat Robotics when I first sampled these, because I was having issues where the robots I had hooked up with them would randomly “jump” forward and backward. After 3-4 “test” escs being used, we thought we narrowed it down to my Spekrum controller and proceeded to put a warning on the ESC page for Spektrum users.

What did we do about it?

We reshipped brand new speed controllers to everyone until they got one that worked, refunded the full purchase price back, or replaced them with a malenki nano.

I’m still having trouble with my Speed Controller, what can I do?

Please reach out to me at malicebattlebots@gmail.com for a full refund or an upgrade to a malenki nano. I am no longer shipping new speed controllers of this design.

A note from Bunny:

I’m so sorry about the quality of this speed controller. When I had problems with it, I should not have moved forward with selling them. There are better, but more expensive, options on the market, and I was trying to make the SCAR Kit hit the $100 mark, which was just not possible with the more expensive speed controller, but of course, it would obviously have been the less expensive option now. I continue to want to bring you the best products, that I myself have used, and am redoubling this effort now.

I learned a lot about myself doing this SCAR Kit, and I appreciate all of you working with me to get these speed controller issues handled!
